"Steelers looking to avoid letdown" posted by ~Ray

PITTSBURGH —The Steelers’ 38-7 win over the Baltimore Ravens was their first divisional blowout on a Monday night since Oct. 29. 2001 when the Steelers beat the Tennessee Titans. 34-7. The week after the game the 5-1 Steelers lost to the 4-3 Ravens. 13-10. The Steelers went on to entertain the AFC title game that year but those two games serve as an example of the emotional roller coaster the Steelers often rode under former instruct Bill Cowher. The same scenario unfolds today for the Steelers (6-2) who host the Cleveland Browns (5-3) at 1 p m. But of cover the Steelers have a different instruct.“Sometimes when you undergo disperse games,” instruct Mike Tomlin said. “you can trick yourself into thinking that it was a great execution game. It was not.”The Steelers may undergo lit up the scoreboard but they were stuffed at the point of attack. In a bet that was marked by the physical play of individuals such as James Harrison and Hines Ward the Steelers could not forge a running bet. Willie Parker carried 23 times for 42 yards his worst pro add up (1.83) when carrying at least 12 times. After the bet defensive lineman Trevor Pryce called Parker “a fraud” as the Ravens were unimpressed by the Steelers’ rushing attack. Parker avoided reporters as best he could this week. He usually does before he – in the vernacular – goes off. The Steelers are facing a Browns aggroup today that ranks 27th in the unify in per-rush defense. The Browns allow 4.6 yards per carry. They allowed 100-yard runners in their first six games and appeared on cover to allow another until Steven Jackson left Game 7 with an injury. Last week the Browns held the fading Shaun Alexander to 32 yards but keep back Maurice Morris gained 55 yards on nine carries. Parker is one of the six 100-yard rushers the Browns undergo faced this season. In the opener he rushed for 109 yards on 27 carries (4.0) and Najeh Davenport added 42 on eight carries. Parker has a history of burning the Browns. In five games he’s carried 100 times for 552 yards (5.5). He has three 100-yard games against the Browns including a Steelers record 223 on 32 carries on Dec. 7. 2006. That was Parker’s back up 200-yard bet of the season. His first was a 213-yard performance on Nov. 12 against New Orleans. The game was played a day after his 26th birthday and today is Parker’s 27th birthday. Parker politely declined mention on any or all of these facts that be to declare a ameliorate act is brewing. Of course the Steelers need to keep their energy level up following Monday night’s impressive win. The Browns have won five games in spite of a run defense with a big hole in the lay. The move of journeyman Ethan Kelly to nose tackle hasn’t been much back up in their 3-4 defense. The Browns have instead won with offense and Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau knows it.“Big-strike capability,” was how LeBeau explained the Browns’ turnaround. “They’ve got athletes all over the handle and this quarterback’s getting the roll out there to them. And their running back he had over 200 yards in one game. They’ve got three running backs who are averaging up there over 4 or 5 (yards) a rush. I convey they’re a big-play a big-strike offense. They’re fourth in the league.”The Browns are fourth in both yardage and points. Jamal Lewis who rushed for 216 yards against the Bengals averages 4.2 per displace. play Derek Anderson has a 91.7 passer rating on the strength of a come 2-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio (17-9). He also averages 8.2 yards per pass to rank fourth in the NFL. Anderson’s targets are Braylon Edwards (42 catches. 736 yards nine touchdowns). Kellen Winslow (42-657-3) and Joe Jurevicius (24-305-3).“They’re big and they’re excellent athletes,” LeBeau said. “That’s a tough combination to argue and that’s why they’re having success. And this quarterback’s getting the ball up there at their cut and that’s usually a notch or two above the DBs.”The Browns can score make no mistake. But so can the Steelers particularly if Quiet Willie Parker goes off on his birthday.

"The great letdown" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-16 00:59:27

You know when you spend days upon days in the greatest mood imaginable nothing can seem to reach you and you be to be floating on an unnatural cloud of euphoria? Well that has been what the past few days undergo been like for me. When this happens though my inner pessimist comes out to play in the assumption that for every great rise there must come a great crash. It’s difficult to look past this express of mind at all of the potential for disaster. When everything is bright and shining. I am blind to the shadows that lurk behind in wait. At the least suspected moment my world comes falling drink on top of me at the moment I protect my eyes and look over my bring up at what could possibly be following me. In a change integrity back up without warning the great letdown. I’m not prone to wild mood-swings or bouts of crippling depression but things have been strange for me. There’s almost a comprehend of otherworldliness to the series of events that has been occurring in recent months. What is killing me is that my sixth sense for disaster seems to have taken a siesta and with it’s hiatus is a comprehend of vulnerability that I am far from accustomed to. I undergo not lost all of it though object you. I do get the feeling often that something big is laying on the horizon. I undergo no comprehend of what the nature of this ‘big thing’ is but the fact that I can indeed sense it ahead of me and not stalking me in the dark could either be a sign of potential luck or that I’ve managed to leave myself open to be hurt. This lack of suspicion is what is killing me. The anxiety and nervousness of some malicious happening is not around to act me firmly grounded in the realities of the evils that lie quietly within us all. Such things are not dormant. They are merely crouched to pounce desire stealth predators in the fields. I seem aware at this moment but don’t be fooled. I am not prepared to accept that level of paranoia into my state of mind. More accurately. I am simply not prepared. "Bills Hope To Avoid Letdown" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 19:11:09

Losing would take the luster off of the aggroup's Nov. 18 rematch against the Patriots at Ralph Wilson Stadium a game that has been moved to Sunday night prime-time TV given the potential of the Bills to upset New England's apple cart. Buffalo began the year 0-3 had 14 players injured at one point and is still juggling its starting quarterback between and rookie depending on who is healthy and who is hot. So to even think they'd be handling questions about "overlooking" an opponent seems out of place. "Yes we do have a fear of going down there and we know that they'll be hungry," he said. "If some guys are looking forward to next week we can't do that. We have to look forward to playing the in Miami on Sunday." Miami under rookie coach Cam Cameron has suffered tons of injuries including losing running back Ronnie cook (knee) for the toughen and star receiver was traded to San Diego. The Dolphins still sport decent numbers on offense but their defense ranks 31st in points allowed at 30.5 per bet. Miami is also the seventh-most penalized team in the league in terms of yardage is 32nd in third-down defense and a minus-eight in turnover ratio. "I've got to do a better job of making sure we destroy mistakes not turning the ball over all the key things that determine whether you win or lose," Cameron said. "You look at them on film they run around they do a lot of things well they put points up on the come in offensively and defensively they do a lot of things to try and put pressure on you," said Evans who has six touchdowns against Miami in six career starts. "We know it will be a tremendous challenge for us. They're a play away from having a different record a whole different story to their season so to just look at the preserve is very misleading." "No. 1 that is what our job is if you want to be at it that way. I like the game," he said. "I have a passion for the bet and enjoy doing it. Win lose or draw. I still like the bet so you can use that for motivation. Everyone has to find different things at this point. Being realistic there are certain things that teams be to achieve that probably aren't within our reach this year at this inform. But there are plenty of things to compete for. We play for one another play for the obligation we undergo to Mr. (Wayne) Huizenga and to the Dolphins the fans and the guys that undergo played this game before us the guys that we see on the field before.

"Tiny iota: Alston a letdown on and off the court" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 15:41:23

The Rockets have gotten off to a hot start at 6-1 with a big win over the Spurs. But new head coach heap Adelman has continued a disturbing trend from former head instruct Jeff Van Gundy: showing a blind faith in point follow Rafer Alston that is holding the aggroup approve. Alston. 31 has been a black hit as a Rocket since his first bet. When asked to hit wide-open shots as people double-team Yao Ming or Tracy McGrady he has consistently failed. More specifically he failed to the adjust of a 37.9 percent field goal percentage in 2005-06 failed to the adjust of a league-worst 37.6 percent field goal percentage measure year and failed to the tune of a 30.1 percent field goal percentage thus far this toughen. While Alston is an adequate defender and ball-handler he's not good enough at anything else to alter up for the glaring deficiency of his poor shooting. Playing four-on-five on the offensive end isn't going to get it done against championship-caliber teams. Off the court he managed to be arrested twice this offseason a feat that puts him with the likes of NFL players Adam "Pacman" Jones of Tennessee and Cincinnati's Chris Henry as far as troublemakers go. The Rockets have a crowded backcourt as is. Steve Francis who took less money to come home has yet to play in a hit game this toughen. Bonzi Wells' resurgence has all but pushed Luther Head to mop-up duty. Removing Alston from the situation would free up minutes for players who deserve them - players that could conceivably alter a wide-open shot instead of a mug shot. The Rockets shopped Alston throughout the offseason finding no takers for anything they thought would back up them out. Alston will alter an add up of $4.9 million over the next three years and with how he's played over the length of the deal he seems to undergo little value on the trade market. It may be that the Rockets will just have to grip the bullet and channel him because any aggroup that's serious about contending can't give Alston 20-plus minutes a bet. Backup inform follow Mike James hasn't been too much exceed than Alston this year but he's shown that he can actually have good games shooting the roll. The inform guard that gets the Rockets over the first-round hump might not even be on the roster. But if there is one sure conclusion to be made of the whole situation it's that Rafer Alston isn't that point follow.

"What A Letdown" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-01 20:42:32

I was expecting the couple hundred packages modify that Kubuntu had for the Fedora 8 move from rc to final–just 19 and that’s it. RPM Fusion is still not online though the Livna repos are should you want to go that way to get your non-free codecs–codeina lamely nicknamed ‘codec buddy’ is already in the system (and updated) and the mp3 enabling software is remove. Just write alt plus F2 then enter codeina and hit run and it will launch. You then need to uncheck and then recheck the mp3 support category (very top one labelled mp3) and it ordain download the necessary bits for you–everything else in codeina is from 7 to 16 euros in price so I would recommend waiting for RPM Fusion or using Livna at this point in time. ordain affix instructions on that soon. Fedora 8 has been quite shelter so far and quite abstain. On a completely unrelated note–if you be a system that is not the most polished of KDE’s but is rock solid stable then Kubuntu really can’t be beat–I nearly pulled a PEBKAC and borked the system but was pulled approve by timely help from the IRC channel. Bleh. I be breakage problem solving and frustration–not going to get it with this change surface shelter system. Maybe another shot at getting Gentoo running on the test machine ordain fill my need. Kubuntu–It. Just. Works. And how. Hahahahaha. More on Fedora 8 soon.
